What are drugs? Why do people use them? What are some
ways I can refuse drugs? These are all very good questions and I hope I
can help you answer them. Drugs are any mind-altering substances. Some
drugs are legal and some are illegal. Legal drugs include alcohol,
cigarettes, even medicine. Alcohol and cigarettes are some legal drugs
that have negative effects on the body such as liver problems, mouth
cancer, throat cancer, and even death. Medicine is also a drug but it has
more positive effects on the body rather than alcohol and cigarettes.
Medicine is dangerous but only if abused( not used as directed on the
bottle or container). Illegal drugs include those sold by drug dealers
such as LSD(acid), Marijuana(pot), Cocaine, Heroin, Meth, Crack, Ecstasy,
and many more all in which have negative effects on the body. People use
drugs for many reasons some personal such as stress at home or at work and
they need a way out, or their parents or someone they looked up to while
growing up used drugs when they was growing up. Some reasons aren't
personal though. Some people use drugs as a result of peer-pressure.
Peer-pressure is when people your age is trying to get you to do
something. Some ways you can refuse drugs is to say no, if that doesn't
work give them an excuse and even if that excuse isn't true they don't
know if it is or not. If giving an excuse doesn't work you can always turn
your back on them and walk away. If someone offers you a drug tell them no
and repeat it until they get the picture, but if they continue to pressure
you make up an excuse even if it is fake the person you are telling it to
doesn't know. And if the still won't give up on trying to get you to use
drugs turn your back on them and walk away.
